History & Innovation: Workplace Branding for Ancestry.com
Ancestry.com is the largest geneaology company in the world, offering a wide array of services that help people find their relatives and explore their family trees. For their EMEA Headquarters based in Ireland, Vision developed a workplace branding solution that had a positive impact on the employees and visitors alike, building on the perception and reputation of the brand.
Living The Brand Mission in the Office Spaces
Vision was chosen to implement the branding of Ancestry.com in their office spaces. We decided to use wall murals and graphics to create a branded environment where the company’s mission–to help people to discover, preserve and share their family history–blends with its fast-paced, high-tech heart and reveals the company in all its multiplicity.
Successful environmental branding achieves a number of goals, which in this case were reflecting the company’s values to visitors and making the surroundings more inspiring and pleasant to work in. We talked with Ancestry.com back and forth, working out a collective vision that helped achieve these goals.

Connecting Brand and People
Due to the nature of the premises, the most feasible option was to use office wall art related to the company’s core values. Our design team digitized authentic old pictures of various locations and reproduced them on a larger scale. By using these images as wall murals in different office locations, we created a unique connection between the brand and the employees.
Even though the services they offer have strong links to the past, the company's forward-thinking perspective was already reflected in their modern office interior design which we could build upon. The vintage photographs used for wall graphics blended stunningly with these modern interiors, creating the same harmonious contrast that exists between the brand mission and the company’s roots in the modern web.
